Very excited to announce that one of my images has been selected and made it through to The Xperience Group Portrait Awards Final in the Top Dog category.  For those who I haven’t told about this, I belong to the ‘The Xperience Group’, which is an independent collection of Professional Photographers based in the UK, specialising in a variety of photography subjects, but with one goal - The Perfect Photography Xperience for all.

Every year they run a competition across numerous categories of photographic expertise with a top prize of a framed piece of artwork for both the photographer and the client as a way of trying to get us all to improve our work.  As a bonus to those who have had photographic shoots with me so far this year, I have been entering (with their permission) an image or two from each shoot in the hope that I might win.

Well the first round (of 3) has just been completed and the winners announced. 263 entries into the ‘Top Dog’ category  and 29 selected for the Finals.  One of them is mine!  With two more rounds to go I’ll continue to submit clients’ images in the hope I can get some more through.  I’ll have to wait until the Awards Finals Evening in November to find out if I have won, so fingers crossed.

Which image made it? Well it’s AJ, the fox terrier x poodle owned by Juliet.  This was taken on my first ever professional shoot so I am thrilled about this.  I also know that Juliet and her husband loved the image as they chose it for the centre piece of their Art Panel.  Here it is:
