Welcome.....
Welcome to my journey into the macro world around us. I have always loved macro photography but became frustrated with the limitations of the shallow depth of field that you had to work with. Now, with new technology available this is no longer a problem and so I am once again off of an adventure into this mysterious world.
These images are a diary of my work. Starting from scratch, having to learn a new camera system, working with flash for the first time, using new techniques both in the field and during post processing, learning about how to get the best images from my subjects and trying to identify them is a steep learning curve.
So I'm not just going to post the good images, but also the not so good images to document my progress, show my thought process and create discussion about what I am doing right and wrong and to hopefully inspire others to explore the macro world.
First Experiments.....

Stacking.....
These images are the first images I tried which involved stacking multiple images together in software. Having never tried this before I just used Photoshop to create these but I am aware that there are specific stacking software options I should use for this type of photography and that is my next step.
