Culzean Castle and Country Park

I led the first photowalk of the year around the magnificent Culzean Castle for Irvine Camera Club as a preview for the public photowalk next weekend and what a walk it was.  We saw Fulmars, Herons, Red Deer, Fallow Deer, Llamas, Minnows, Bluenbells, Daffodils, Ferns, Incredible Twisted Trees, Wild Garlic, Amazing Views and Scenery, the list goes on.

We had early access to the park which meant there was no-one there for the first hour allowing us to get clear shots of the castle grounds, which at this time of the year would normally be impossible.  We then had an up close deer and Llama experience which allowed for shots not normally possible.  We then set off on our walk round areas of the park that not many people visit finishing back at the Castle 4 hours later.

The part that made this walk different to a normal photowalk was that Shep the Ranger came with us and she was able to answer questions about the park, the wildlife, plants and trees and the history of the castle and the grounds which made for a fascinating morning as we walked in-between the photo locations I had planned.

It was an amazing morning and if anyone would like to come along there are a few spaces left for next Sunday or get in touch and I would be happy to guide you or a group of you around myself.  I cannot wait until next week when I get to do it all again.
