CLTP Announcement

CLTP News!

I am excited to announce that I am working with ‘Islay Dog Rescue’ on some photography projects with the aim of using my photography skills to help with the rehoming of the dogs in their care.

Today I was asked to photograph ‘Derry’ who had just arrived yesterday in what can only be described as an upsetting state of health, with a view of providing ‘before’, ‘after’ and hopefully some ‘safely in a new home’ set of images so that the rescue can use them to promote the work that they do.

He was malnourished, scared, covered in matts, looked like he had been living outdoors and is nearly blind.

But he is the sweetest little dog who now needs some medical care, lots of love, somewhere warm and sheltered to sleep and ultimately someone to look after him.

Not all shoots are easy for lots of reasons. It would be easy to become angry or upset, but you don’t always know the whole story or what has gone on before they arrive. Dogs are surrendered for all sorts of reasons from the loss of their owner, financial reasons, owners health issues. Many reasons are valid, some are inexcusable, all of them are tragic.

What I do know though is that the images I take can help and ultimately improve the life he has left and hopefully find him somewhere he’ll be loved.

I can’t wait to see how he turns out and I will keep you updated on his progress.

I also got to photograph Ollie a 6 yr old Collie mix, Leo who was not happy about having his photos taken in the rain and Flossie who is a beautiful looking 4 1/2 year old dog from Romania.
