‘Pip’ RIP

If anyone was following me during the first lockdown, you might remember the elderly dog ‘Pip’ who we rescued and re-homed during this very difficult period.
I was going to write a post about how this came to be and how we managed to rescue and re-home a dog who was living in Cornwall while we were in Surrey but honestly it is too upsetting so I’ll just leave it there.

That said, with the help of friends, we made sure she had nice homes to stay in while we looked for a home for her and eventually found a loving home back down in Cornwall just down the road from her original house so it was lovely she knew where she was and had the run of a farm to live out her days.

We never thought she would live another three years, elderly as she was when we rescued her, but we found out on Wednesday this week that she had collapsed and had to be put to sleep. We are both devastated and upset by this news but thankful of the part we played in her having a fantastic last three years in a loving home.

‘Pip’ was an integral part of our story, having been part of our lives for years before she was rescued and a big piece of the puzzle that allowed us to move to Scotland and have the life and friends we now have up here.

I know she will be missed by all of us who helped during that time.

❤️RIP🌈

P.S. For those of you who were not following me at the time, we also rescued a cow called ‘Baby’ and re-homed her with the Cinnamon Trust in Cornwall. She is still doing fine and enjoying her life with the other farm animals she now lives with.
