January 2024

January is well under way and it’s always the month where us working photographers plan the year ahead after the busy run up to Christmas. I’m excited to be working on some new ideas and projects for this year and am still celebrating my ‘Dog Photographer Of The Year’ award.

Yesterday was such beautiful day I took my camera to the dog park to photograph my own dogs which is something I don’t often get the opportunity to do, so this is Merlin enjoin the sun.

As for other news, well the use of AI that is creeping into everyday life (it’s been with us for a while, it’s just most didn’t notice it) is shaking up the photographic industry and I see many photograhers panicking and worried about the future.

Yes, there’s going to be changes but those that adapt and who are willing to change will book in the same way that happened when we went to digital and everyone could get good photos and then when every phone had a camera on it so everyone was able to take photos at any time.

In some ways, some things have never changed. Photography for me was never about taking pictures…………..
