In The Paper, 30th November 2022

Having a difficult week this week as I hurt my back on Sunday just as I was leaving the house for a photoshoot.  So it’s been a week of cancelled work and meetings.

So what a lovely surprise to see another of my images in the Irvine Herald this week.  Taken after a shoot at Irvine Harbour, it’s of an abandoned Trolley, page 2, bottom right. Taken on my phone, it goes to show that you don’t need a nice camera to get involved with photography.  There’s a saying that goes something like “the best camera is the one you have with you when you see the image” and I’m glad I saw this.

I just loved the reflection making it seem as if the trolley was whole.  It was for the clubs weekly fun competition on the theme of abandonment.  I also posted a photo of Gemma as she was abandoned, but cute dog photo’s don’t cut it with the weekly competition judge.  I’ve included the image here so you can see it though.

One day I will get both Gemma and Merlin in to the paper!  Saying that, if you read the text she does get a name drop along with myself as her story obviously resonated even if the image wasn’t great.  Always exciting to see my work in print and with my name in the text and a mention for Gemma. the pain in my back doesn’t seem as bad as it did yesterday.
