Another step in the right direction

My blog for all things photography

This week the results of the first competition at ICC were announced and I got a ‘Highly Commended’ with no comments which is rare in competitions like this.  It was for my image called ‘Taking A Break’ which I took over the summer.  Although it is not a four legged friend, as I have previously discussed by undertaking other work and disciplines you can learn a lot that you can then bring to the dog equine portraits I create.

This is the image:

On a personal level I was thrilled as this type of photography is something I have been working towards since I got my new set up and to have someone tell me it was an almost perfect image means I am doing something right.  What did I learn to work on that I can bring to my dog and equine work?  Mainly patience and holding my breath for a long time waiting for the shot. 😀
